Fall in love with Cullen

Cullen is a truly wonderful place - and AppleTree Cottage or 193 Seatown are the perfect places to stay.

Seatown is minutes away from four sandy beaches with quiet lanes for wandering safely. My children learned to ride their bikes around Seatown, and ventured on their first independent forays up in to the town.

What can you do in Cullen? 

Join the dog walkers and wanderers on morning and evening promenades, with or without dogs, and enjoy the sea air, look for sea glass and shells. Grab a coffee from Coffee At The Kings - there's a voucher in your gift bag! Andrew serves a great coffee at Coffee at the Kings by the beach; and why not have a sea-side sauna just along from Cullen Golf Club?

Take a blanket and coolbox from the cottage and spend the day or evening on the beach - paddle, swim or launch yourself in to harbour. 

Walk the beaches, the coast and the old railway line that’s part of the cycle paths running the north east coast. Head east to Pet Cemetery, the Salmon Bothy and beyond the hand built steps that take you on to Sunnyside Beach, Findlater Castle, Sandend and Portsoy. Or head west and see Bow Fiddle Rock, Portknockie, Findochty along to Buckie. Further afield there’s Lossiemouth, Findhorn and endless beaches and walks to enjoy.

Cyclists can ride the roads or railway line, and we can all enjoy the many stopping points for views, coffees and cakes.

Eat at The Royal Oak (just around the corner from 193 and AppleTreeCottage), or head up in to town to The Seafield Arms. The Cullen Bay has expansive views over the sea and serves meals daily. Then there’s the coffee shops,  deli, Beinn Bookshop, antique and bric-a-brac shops in the village. Lily's Kitchen Cafe holds the Cullen Skink World Champion award.

And if you are keen to spoil a good walk, there’s the challenging links course for the golfer.
